me again...
tidying up the garage at home as things are slowly shifted back to the boat after been stored there for the last couple of years or more.
Now, last year I bought an AIRMAR passarelle s/h which unsurprisingly came with no remote. Further, the seller (was actually a yard that did some work on the boat and removed the passerelle) said that there was no controller on the system.
Earlier in the morning I went through all the boxes and cabling there and came across a box with cables coming in nothing coming out
Opened it up and sure enough was a nice Quick 1354 radio control box receiver, in excellent nick.
Relieved, I now only have to worry about getting a compatible transmitter (4 channel as in up down and in out)
Specs of the 1354 are here here (bottom of page)
It mentions:
Transmission freq. 433.91MHz
Transmission code. 32bit digital
code combo identified 16.7mill
transmission codes stored 50 (I guess that covers 12 remotes X 4 codes per remote, more than I'll ever need...)
Standards/test methods used: ETS 300 220, ETS 300 683 (no clue what it means)
Same page bit higher has various floating or not 2-4-10channel transmitters. Quite like the 4 channel bow thrusters one (top link on previous page) but seems that they use some other technology as they mention FSK modulation whereas "my" 1354 receiver doesn't mention modulation at all.
By going through all transmitters, seems that only 04 (oddly squary shaped one) and 304 (fugly and massive!) are compatible.
Main problem I have is that I'm not familiar with RF that much, especially all these rolling codes, vs fix systems, etc. My garage door as a two channel thing that seems to be programmed the same way as the QUICK by pressing a button at the receiver and then the transmitter ones. I actually may try to run the passarelle with this and see (but it's only a 3 button remote so missing one function!)
Now, remember RR had a thread on passarelle remotes a few months ago and Adey mentioned one he bought off ebay for less than two quid.
RR was talking about dip switches which mine hasn't, Adey looks like it may fit but didn't come back in the thread to confirm that things worked out for him and how.
SO, Q are:
what does this 32bit digital transmission code mean (not seen on any ebay offering!)
will a rolling code transmitter work on my system?
can anyone recommend/ has tried successfully something form ebay on a similar setup?
What's up with Poland and remotes? Most ebay sellers seem to be from there, any catch?
cheers
