I am taking CdG up to Limehouse Basin from the Orwell this weekend. Some crew would be welcome, as currently I only have two vague expressions of interest, but they don't yet know about the dawn departure on Saturday morning.

I also don't want to take crew away from Bernie's request, so, CdG will be cruising, upwind most of the way, and not in the running for any prizes. :)

Would have loved a sail on your fine craft however prior commitments mean we cant Gutted as we have not done the Thames and realy like the look of you boat

Pyro and 'Croix Des Gardes' made it to Limehouse, virtually single handed. Although he did have two people on board who managed to critique his performance all the way. Their main concern was whether his ensign should be moved so that its trailing edge was not getting wet and whether or not he should put a reef in said ensign as one rail was in the water for much of the journey. They were also highly critical of his route through the lower Thames as it wasn't as pretty as they expected and why he chosen to do the lower Thames rather than the Upper Thames and couldn't they go back to a pretty river like the Orwell. Or next time could he try and get to Limehouse by going through the Swale. They did manage to drink a lot of tea and eat most of the very stale mini chocolate donuts.

A very comfortable night was spent at Stangate Creek just off the Medway rather than the planned Queenborough, but once again not very pretty when overlooked by at least three power stations. But it was good to see a number of other wooden boats including a large ketch and a beautiful little blue Folkboat. Following discussions on this forum we very properly displayed all the correct shapes and lights when both anchoring and motoring.
