Morning,
Planning a trip to Pyefleet this weekend, anyone been yet this season? will be picking up up a mooring or anchoring, hope there's enough water, I draw 2m and with the tides wont get much over datum Sunday morning.

Yes, we have anchored there a couple of times this season. The depths seemed to be the same as ever. Anchor in the middle a cable or two past the end of the moorings, or further in, and you should be fine.

There is still some Pyefleet mud on our anchor, although we are now in Vlieland and have anchored since in the IJsselmeer!

Went here for the first time weekend of 27/28 May. It was the 1st anniversary cruise of purchasing my first boat, and a glorious weekend to boot, even with the brief thunder and lightning as we headed down Medusa from Harwich. Fab location, great holding, spent a peaceful night at anchor. Spoke to the Oystery during the week and ordered a seafood platter for which we went ashore. They are closed over the weekend but have a secure location where they will leave your order, well worth it, great selection. Visitor moorings appear to be mostly let out there may possibly be one or two that are not claimed for the year but expect to anchor. Looking forward to going back. We were treated to a firework display as well due to the Brightlingsea regatta.

We are also planning a trip there for Saturday night. Westerly Konsort with twin keels so only 1 metre draft.

You could go up beyond Peewit Island (be careful of the oyster beds between the Peewit & Mersea islands). You will probably be on the bottom at low springs, or even neaps if you don't find the right spot, but with twin keels it's no bother. Don't tell too many people though, we usually have it to ourselves.
