Stumbled over a funny invention. A guy has made a kit that fit on the nozzle of a PWC water jet propulsion. The kit include coupling, fire hose and nozzle transforming the PWC or Jetrib to a high power water pump. It is offered to small Fire Brigades but I immideately started thinking that it is the kind of kit that could fit in a hard case a'la liferaft, ready to be used instantly on boats. Coupled to an ejector nozzle it could probably as well be used to pump out huge amounts of water in no time, from your boat or sombody elses. The inventors website didn't open up othervice I would have put a link, but if anyone is interested to find out more I can PM the fax nr etc.

Blimey - You'd have to tie the PWC down well though, otherwise it'd just takeoff to the limit of the fire hose and end up "tethered" by that.....

Stop me if your being ironic but the ski would go no where with a hose attached because the thrust wouldn't be going into the water.....

The thrust doesn't have to go into the water, it works on the same action=reaction principle of a rocket. But in this case I suspect the reaction would be transferred to the hose jet requiring it to be firmly held...until it straightened out and it became a longer rocket again....
