PVC glue remover / solvent

Hi all,

The weaver snap davit pads are slowly peeling off my PVC dinghy. Got some new glue and would like to fully remove the pads, clean and restick them back on.

What's the best glue remover / solvent to get em off and clean the area underneath for reattachment?

wd40 to remove the glue then good old soap and water

I think I would use white spirit to clean before re-glueing.
