You need to have the pic parked somewhere on the web, Photobucket is the usual suspect around here.
Then take the web address for the pic (which must end in .gif or .jpg) and insert it in your post. Precede the web address with {image} and follow it with {/image}, but replace the curly brackets with square ones. If you're feeling lazy, you can use img between the brackets, and save four keystrokes.
Forget Twister Ken's complicated instructions. When you have got your pics on http://photobucket.com/
Just click on the box below the pic you want to add that says "IMG CODE" A yellow box should appear that says "copied" then go to your post that you want the picture in right click and select paste
That's it.
Once you have mastered that if you want to add any other web images follow Ken's instructions.
But don't forget that the forum has an agreed limit on the width of a picture at 650 pixels, so anything straight from your camera will be wa-a-ay too big and upset the forum software.
Photobucket is quite sophisticated in that regard. If you go to the upload options in photobucket, and select 'large' it will automatically convert the size of uploaded photos to a size suitable for these forums.

[/ QUOTE ] I think you will find the yellow box thing has been discontinued because the latest version of Flash Player blocks the auto-copy function. You are still able to use the auto copy if you do not have the latest version but to the best of my knowledge the yellow flag will not appear.
Certainly with the latest version of flash player you have to click on the IMG code then copy in one of the time honoured windows methods (Ctrl C or by right clicking etc)
I also have suspicion that Photobucket have changed the default settings so that the lines of code only appear on "mouse over". If so click "link options" and set them to appear always!
Gentlepersons
This question keeps being asked. In this latest string Twister Ken's reply only make sense to the initiated. Then Sypro gives an easy way. Then Lake sailor says theres's a size problem but gives no solution. Then Brendan says if it's too big select Large (?) and so we go on.
Then we get an instruction on how to up load from Photobucket which is promptly ruled out of date.
Then there was that very detailed tutor somebody posted which seemed way over the top..
If it's now so simple why can't somebody post a simple set of instructions that any non IT wizard can cope with and which covers the re-sizing issue. Indeed why can the forum boss not keep a permamently updated instruction in the system.
Dunno why the browsers dont have a drag and drop function function for pics for the ordinary punter. If you can do it by cut/paste urls surely easy to add extra layer of functionality instead of all the other bloats

[/ QUOTE ] The problems possibly are that things like this issue with Flash player crop up and P' bucket are always fiddling about with it all as well. Sometimes the Photobucket site seems to change in some way every time you use it.
It is simple !!!
1. Open an account
2. Follow the instructions to upload, but limit the size to "large " if the pics are for these forums
3. Follow the instructions for copying the IMG code to paste into forums.
4. Paste the IMG code into your post
How much simpler do you want it?
Mind you there is much much more that you can do with P'bucket.
So what you want are instructions in one or two sentences and simple.
You can't really have both.
What level should instructions be pitched, they way some people bleat it seems they want the words in phonetics too as English is far too difficult to read.
There is no single button solution, what ever level instructions are pitched, someone always moans they're too difficult. I thought people came here to learn new things?
Oh. I can give you my solution to resizing, but you wouldn't like it because it isn't simple in any way.
There is plenty of advice in this thread.
If you managed to get up and get dressed this morning, switch on the computer and found your way here, it's not very much more difficult.
