Putting boat name on a new tender.

I leave my dinghy tied up on the foreshore but not locked, with the oars just tied in with an old sail-tie. I've had it since the 1980s, and nobody's nicked it yet (it's on the beach at Mylor right now if you're tempted). The yacht's name is clearly marked on it. I think the secret is to be a bit trusting, and to move away from areas where this trust is not merited. Their loss if I do; I spend quite a lot in the locality each year. There's nothing like hitting the local council where it hurts most...
 
I've usually written the mother ship's name on the underside and etched into the outboard pad. Covers insurance requirements and doesn't advertise that the mother ship is unattended.
