In 1976 I bought a Radar that set me in £1700.00p just for fun a ran a comparison check to find how much that would be today and found out of would be almost £7,400.00p.

Nice one B. Now I have a Hardy Fly rod - complete with original invoice for
£10-19s 6d which 'your' site calculates as the present day equivalent of £298. So it was quite a fancy bit of kit when it was bought in September 1919. The nice bit is that distance (and age) lends enchantment and I turned down £2K for it from a dealer earlier this year. For a bl**dy fishing rod!!!! And one that I won in a £25 bet a few years ago!!!!! Hey Ho if only all my investments were that good - I'm still sitting on a pile of BT shares!!

Recently spent £345 on a Hardy fishing rod. ope that appreciates at the same rate as yours but i doubt it.

and people moan about the prices they pay today. How lucky we are, sounds like it might be time for you to buy a new one!

Buying a new one isn't the problem, getting someone to come and install it is another matter /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Incidentally it wasn't anything special it was a Decca 050 and when I last heard the old girl was still working.
