Purchasing Lewmar Spares

Where do people on here go to buy Lewmar spare parts. I have a yacht stuffed full of Lewmar products, which is fine until something goes wrong.
Lots of retailers in the USA it seems, but not much doing here in the UK.
I'm looking for a vertical windlass V2 motor, part 60000189, 12 volt. Any suggestions please?

Consult Amber at Aquafax in Hamble - in our experience much more efficient than the Lewmar UK head office

Lewmar won 't deal direct with the public. You need to go through a retailer. As suggested in the Hamble, or Andy at Yachtparts in Plymouth is very knowledgeable, does mail order and is quick and reliable. No connection - I just buy stuff from him.

Another vote for Aquafax, who are the UK distributor for Lewmar. Although they don't list everything on their website, if you've got the Lewmar part number, it seems that they can get the part. I recently ordered a non-stocked windlass stripper ring, and was quoted 14 days delivery and a very modest p/p charge.

Another vote for Andy at Yachtparts - they are Aquafax too as revealed by their credit card receipts.

I've used Foxes in Ipswich before and they were very quick - a Lewmar clutch sent for repair and returned within 48hrs!

Thanks for the pointers all. I'll get on the phone tomorrow. Most of the ebay stuff seems to be in the USA, and I need a motor kind of quick!

Thank you - I didn't know that and if that is really them dealing direct then they might have changed their policy. It wasn't the experience of a friend who maintains a boat in the Portsmouth area who I was talking about this very subject only a few day ago. He tried to speak to Lewmar direct and was referred continually to local dealers (which was also my experience a few years ago); I am surprised that they didn't refer him to their online ordering facility that you have highlighted.

How strange... To be honest I have never ordered from that website.. but it has been very useful for diagrams and part numbers.

As already said: Lewmar On-Line Store.
They post to anywhere ... even if postal charges are OTT.

I have just ordered a couple of plastic bits for my main-sheet traveller; whereas in Italy I had to buy a complete kit from their importer/supplier.

They also have great exploded diagrams of their products.

New windlass motor (update)

should be on its way to me tomorrow, along with a new contactor switch.
Charter due out on Friday evening so here hoping..........
It's taken a week to get to this point, not really good enough in this day and age, especially when the bits that I need were available, and have sat on a shelf for all of that time.
