Hi, everyone please i have a disturbing issue because i am new in using boats, I'm having at present and extensive googling came up with "mast pumping", Basically I just had a recent rig tune and inspection, all OK, but during windy evenings the mast and rigging seems to pump which is then transferred down to the aft cabin and my bed!

Now I can see where some responses/replies may go but keeping it fairly clean does anybody know how I can stop it?

I don't remember this happening before the tune up but my memory may be failing me.

I appreciate you all assistance

Thank you

Try slackening off your mainsheet. Suspect you are getting resonance through your topping lift being too tight

AIUI mast pumping is flexing of the mast generally caused by sailing loads inadequately supported by the rigging; whatever this is it's not mast pumping. Boats make noise, slatting halliards can be frapped but generally you're either going to have to lump it, wear earplugs in bed or buy a different and less noisy boat.

Well here's a thread on the same issue from 2020, you've either seen this already & copied some of the original post in it or you're a bot or something...

This PBO article also mentions it...
Weirdly similar phrasing.
