So on my pulpit it the fitting in the photo below, but no staff. Any ideas on just getting a staff or should I just cut my losses and get a new fitting. If you vote for a new fitting - which one?

This is the one I have as well.
Might be worth giving them a ring as they do sell the bracket on it's own.
Alternatively it only needs a bit of 1/2 dowel to make up your own, which if it falls overboard will float!!

I'd say it needs a 12mm staff.
Dowel is not an option. I will just get a new fitting in total.

Just trying to be helpful and was only repeating the website which stated flagstaff Dia, 13mm/1/2". Anyway happy for you glad to be of service

TBH I would bin it. Clamp on fittings are unbecoming of your fine ship. But if you need it then I'd suggest get a carbon fibre tube with the woven pattern showing, off eBay or otherwise, plus a plastic and cap or two and some small s/s or black plastic screw-on pad eyes. Perhaps change the ensign staff too.
If you want a s/s staff check out the fairline section on coastal rides website. They have some beautiful tapered staffs for the bow. I don't know your required diameter so you'd have to check the fit.
