Ah, the interception of communications. We have a national thing about it. When you get you cert of competence you sign a bit to say you will never disclose what you hear on the VHF despite it being open to all. There must have been a Mayday Relay exclusion to that privacy clause but I don't remember it.
Did you hear the one about a charter yacht that got its main halyard snarlyfurkined on its prop, and couldn't anchor because there was not enough cable?
I thought that the salient point about this rule wasn't the passing on of information heard per se (because there are numerous examples of when that is the whole point of the transmission!) but that the forbidden element was using the information you have heard for unfair gain or advantage. Or words to that effect.
