Pubs of Bembridge and St. Helen\'s

With the sad demise of my all-time favourite pub a few years back now, i.e. The Row Barge Inn, I am still looking for a replacement. So far I have tried:
The Vine, St. Helen's: average food at above average prices in plasticky community centre sort of ambience. Closest pub to the "Duver marina", friendly staff and good beer tho'.

Ye Olde Village Inn, Bembridge: Ignore the tourist-trap name. This is a very pleasant local, good pint of 6X et. al. and reasonably priced, well presented food. Thought the menu was a bit smaller than last time around, but September is out of season so maybe there are fewer "specials" on the blackboard. The real down side is the 2 mile walk from "Duver marina" (unless it's dry and sunny).

Pilot Boat, Bembridge: 2 years ago this was unexciting but ok, but the last time it appeared to have turned into a kiddies disco after 9pm. No lights, bottled beer and boom-boom music. Haven't dared go back since. Anybody know more about this?

I see the Row Barge has now been flattened and turned into Yuppie flats.

We have been into the Pilot House - quite lively with an extensive menu although typical pub fare with exotic names. Would go back.

The Crab & Lobster is very good. I think that you can walk round the beach to it. Not far. Good beer and food. It also has a fantastic shore-side setting. Ted Heath used to drink there when he was around on Morning Cloud I seem to remember but don't let that put you off. Well worth tracking down. You could also get a taxi to the Culver Haven at the top of Culver Down. It has amazing views on a good day. Cheers. Hic...

used to live in bembrige, the crab and lobster is by far the best seafod restaurant and pub round there.open fires, alcoves, good food that can be eaten in the resteraunt or a cheaper bar menu. can be walked to along the beach (just past the lifeboat station) but if you try it at high water you'll get wet feet. along the road way it's pretty well sign posted.
around the harbour the other way is a place called baywatch on the beach, i always heard good things about it but have never been, it's on the beach on the western side of the harbour mouth.
don't really rate anywhere in st helen's.
if you don't mind a bit of a treck then the place by bembridge airport is good, the name escapes me.......think it's called the propeller inn or some such airplaney name.
avoid raffles if it's still open in bembridge!
the pilot boat isn't bad. better for lunch times and weekday evenings really.

I don't think that the Baywatch is a pub but I might be wrong. I think it is a restaurant. The Propellor is (and always was) a dump. It was the only place we could get served in Bembridge School uniform. Raffles has gone and is now part of Kingswood (Ryde School). The Row Barge has gone and I have never been into The Pilot Boat for obvious reasons.
