I have recently had a PSS seal fitted to my boat. I have noticed it wobbles about a fair amount with the shaft when running. Is this normal?

I also seem to have a drip coming from somewhere when at rest.

The prop is new and was supplied and fitted by the boat yard along with the PSS seal, a new gearbox and new cutlass bearings.

I don't know if they balanced it, do you need to balance a new prop?

I'm not getting any vibration or noise, I just noticed the seal wobbling around a lot when in gear.

I don't know if they checked the prop shaft. I'm rather hoping they did as it would be very expensive to have to replace it now the boat is back in the water. I laready have an invoice for £4300 for the work they carried out so far.

I'm certain nothing is caught around the prop, the boat hasn't been anywhere since going back in the water.

So the prop shaft and PSS seal should not wobble about?

I'd be checking if the engines out of line.

That's part of what the £4300 was for.

I think I'll get the boatyard to take a look before I pay the invoice.
