my snowgoose won its class in the 1985 RTIR . It was in full cruising mode . Crew made some good decisions and the wind was up. They were doing 12+ knots off St Catherines with spinnaker up

Small class?

I did a RTI race on a Quest around then. It was the year the race got shortened by light winds to finish at Bembridge Ledge. We duly got recorded and legged it into Bembridge harbour and parked on the beach to port on the way in. Brading?? And went to pub....

Forget our race position but it wasnt inspiring.

Another occasion on the same boat the owner thought it would be a wheeze to 'Thread The Needles' , so we did with spinnaker up too. Now there's interesting.......
