Well I did it, the boat passed the survey and I am now a proud new owner of a nice Fairline Holiday. Skint for ever now I think.

Yeee Haaa ! Good news, and I hope you and the family have a lot of fun.

At the risk of being boring /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif you will genuinely have to make sure you have the full basic safety kit, otherwise if there is a problem your insurance could be invalidated.

There are some straightforward checklist on the RNLI site. e.g.

I wont be getting her back to cardiff till Wednesday next week, got a trailer picking her up, £350 from Portsmouth to cardiff, guess thats OK ? Then I gonna have a few basic engine checks done on her some new anodes and a oil leg checks etc, then i'LL get her in the water, I was very lucky to get most of thie things with it, I have a lot of life jackets with it, a radio, a depth scanner and a few other things, so almost ready to go. Can anybody advise me the smallest engine that would be capable of toeing the boat and the trailer ready for when I want to. At the moment we have 2.0 tdi Mondeo, but am looking at possibly a freelander, altho I think the freelander is only a 1.8, however a bigger car ?

Nope, it´ll need a flatbed, the trailer is really a launching trolley - no brakes.

Still useful though.

Nice boat BTW and well worth the risk of buying without a seatrial at the asking price.
