Properley Snubbed

A friend gave me some baby snubbers for the mooring lines on my little yacht.
I think they work well but, where, exactly should they be relative to the boat and pontoon, for optmum efficacy - should they be in the middle half way or bottom? or does it not matter.

Halfway between the fairlead and the pontoon. Then you have room for adjustment either way.
