Hi Guys

The anti ventilation plate of a suzuki 115 on an 18.5 ft open boat is about 1 inch lower than the very bottom of the boat. I measured issue by putting a straight rod parallel from the bottom of boat ( under where the drain plug is situated) to the Outboard. Outboard was straight down Nearly tilted full in. What are your views? Tried to upload some photos but could not. Thanks for your views.:encouragement:

The AV plate should be level with the bottom of the transom give or take an inch or so

Your owners manual should offer guidance on height and trim angle

Too low will cause excessive drag. Too high will mean the prop is running in turbulent water behind the transom and the water pump may loose suction

Depending upon the hull design it is not uncommon to have the AVP up to an inch above the bottom edge of the transom, especially on deep v ribs.
