Really miss that aroma of hydraulic oil as it leaks out of the rams/hoses/ pump and gently rises in little globules to the surface of the water and leaving those pretty delicate rainbows on the surface. The smell of money always follows.
After a while you get quite good as to if its gearbox oil or hydraulic oil by the the smell.

That’s one of the reasons I have to clean my boat all the time, and the reason I let him go in front ,I try to catch the bits that fall off his boat . In my collection I have a B5 prop and a galley fridge.

Why don,t they develop an outdrives held on with Zip Fasteners.
Life would be so much easier for all concerned .

Yours leaves the marina maybe twice a year only to go to another marina for another wash and wax. Mine goes out and stays out collecting salt and guano for days on end. Why on earth would I want to go to sit in some horrid Irish marina for? So I can get some Noddy badge that says I ran my boat for 80 miles non stop to swap ghettos and wash my boat with foreign water? Nutter.

What is frustrating is that this season is our second [and last] year of warranty on our new engine/outdrive. [1st world problem noted]

We were hoping that another season of thrashing about would iron out any remaining issues, as Year one did to a degree..

How hum, best plans eh?!
