propellor antifouling

I have just seen a fellow club member paint his bronze propellor with copper antifouling. I am wondering if the copper in the paint will cause electrolysis of the bronze of the propellor. Are there any sages out there who can answer this ?

Bronze has a bunch of copper in it already, so the antifouling will not cause electrolytic corrosion. However it may well do that on an aluminium prop.

I have antifouled my various propellers with copper-based antifouling for the past nearly 20 years. No corrosion problems.

Slightly related. Down in New Zealand, I saw local fishermen coat their props in lanolin. They would strip/polish the props immediately upon coming out of the water and then liberally apply the lanolin. The prop would then be put in a plastic bag and left in the sun. Presumably, the lanolin somehow weeped into the pores. They swore it was about as good as anything else in those waters. Mind you, they were spinning them constantly.

Works in the uk aswell. But not in the meddy, even the fishing boats antifoul their props down here.
