There has been a spate of thefts of propellors from cruisers ashore around Langstone Harbour; so I'd suggest people with boats around Chichester and Portsmouth ( in fact everwhere ) should beware too.
When I mentioned this on the Anderson 22 Owners Association website, there were responses from all over the UK inc. Further bits of Scotland, Midlands inland & East Coast especially; so the message is, if at all possible take your prop' off before someone else does !
I think we can all guess the likely culprits; what's even more annoying is that the scrap value of a prop' is nowhere near the replacement cost - and hassle, how many people know the exact spec' of their prop', if a secondhand boat ?
One Scottish chap mentioned a notice in Kip Marina placed by someone who'd had his orignal prop' stolen, then the replacement !
