Its that time of year again for antifouling etc, my question to the panel is regarding propshield, is it worth paying 30 squid for some or is ordinary pure lanolin, which is what propshield is apparently based on just as effective (or ineffectve)!!
 
I always use pure Lanolin. I bought a tub about 6 years ago and it's only about half used. From memory I paid about £8 including P&P. Difficult tp get hold of though, I can't remember who, and chemists don't sell it anymore.
 
My local chemist got me some... Anhydrous Lanolin BP... although he had to order it.
Its still used as a base for some cosmetics apparently. One of my jabs last night was to melt some onto the threads of the rigging screws (galvanised).
Talk about pampering the boat...
