Does an one know the shaft taper on a benateau 285 I am abouut to fit a new prop .It would be handy to save having to dry out twice ie once to measure and then fit the new prop.I believe the choice is 1 in 10 12 or 16.Thanks

IIRC metric are usually 10:1, imperial 12:1, never heard of 16:1. So my guess is that yours is 10, but don't blame me if it isn't. Could it be Morse no.1 ? , only (engineering) joking!!!

My benne has a 30mm shaft with a 'standard metric taper'. That's how I ordered the kiwiprop from vectra and it fitted perfectly.

You can measure the shaft inside the boat, I reckon it will be the same. Have you tried ancaster for confirmation?

Hi Colin,
Not knowing anything about the subject doesn't seem to be a bar on having an opinion! I guess the answers haven't helped a lot. how are things with you? Regards to the long suffering Linda!
