Any recommendations as to who to go to for a replacement prop shaft nut? The existing one is not castellated or held tight by the split pin (which fits aft of the nut). Needs to have a 19mm thread (outside diameter) and the locking mechanism (i.e. hole in the shaft is 15 to 20mm behind the prop).

Ta.

If the hole in the shaft is 15mm from thw position of the nut when tight, you'll need to drill another hole. There are two other options you may consider. Use a lock nut (usually a half thickness nut tightened on to the retaining nut) or a shakeproof washer and a nylock nut. I've used both methods in the past and a dab of paint on a clean thread as well works wonders.

If you imagine working back from the prop, there's 15mm of thread before the hole starts. The hole is about 5mm diameter. Unfortunately the existing arrangement comprises of only a 15mm long nut, which brings it in line with the "start" of the hole. So the split pin will, at best, stop the nut and prop falling off altogether, but won't keep the nut from working slightly loose (as it was at the end of this season).

A separate lock-nut sounds like it might be the cheapest option and it could be drilled to suit the existing split pin hole.

Would anyone use locktite, or would that make it impossible to separate it again in the future?

um, i'd be concerned you've lost a washer? The prop nut should be just revealing the splitpin hole when nut is tight. Don't put anything between prop and smooth part of shaft, but blue (undoable) locktite on the thread with nut is fine.
