Prop polishing – every season?

Can someone dry me out behind the ears? - if I polish my prop, do I need to put a shaft anode on? My hull anode is cross-bonded to the engine and gearbox, but I think the flexible nylon connection between gearbox and shaft must break the circuit.

Polished or antifouled makes no difference to the risk of prop corrosion, so your hull anode should still work. However if there is a plastic flexible spacer between gearbox and shaft coupling then it should have a strap across that to keep an electrical connection, regardless of the prop being polished or not.

Try putting a continuity/ohm meter from the anode to the prop. If you've got continuity, no need for a strap. It could turn out to be the easiest job on the list
