After weekend misfortune even trusty Steel Developments said damaged prop beyond repair this time, and in any case recommended slightly different size for river running - Volvo HS Standards 15 x 15, short hub for 270D legs - pair needed, LH and RH.
Have posted a 'Wanted' message but in the event I need to put hand in pocket for new ones any guidance on best(ie cheapest!) place to buy would be appreciated.

PS - For reasons I wont go into one off 15 x 16 would do for now.........

' shouldn't cost much to put that right....or is it a v*lv*? ;-)'

Give Steel Developments a call back. They normally got vilevo props . I got a new one there. Failing that keypart do Michigan props, half the price of vilvos. or you could get those Pihrana things. Or try Boatmart classifieds they normally got loads there. There is also a place in Farnham which aint to far from you cant remember the name but got it somewhere. Poole propulsion will stock them. If you cant get them from one of these places. Then it will be a call to Volvo, but you just know that they will either be A, Not made/kept in stock any more. Or B, yes we can get them for you but they will be £3000/or need to be flown over from sweden. at acost of £35000 on concorde first class!

Mmmmm. When you break it. You break it big time!!

You might want to have a look at http://www.elicheradice.com/al_c_volvo2.htm
This company is actually the producer of the "original" VP alu props for duoprop drives.
As I mentioned in a previous post, VP do not allow them to sell the current line props, but they should supply factory direct (=at reasonable prices) the older ones.
Guess it could be worth paying the delivery expenses.

Well if Steel Developments and the others can't help, there's West Marine. Just seen them in their catalogue, but you can probably get them on the web too at www.westmarine.com. The book lists 15x17 and 15x19 LH &RH props for US$179 each if that helps. Don't know about post and packing though.

northgate marine in norfolk! do a composite prop that has indevidual removable blades (for those who damage them). They are a straight slide in affair and the cone holds it all in place. Same perfomance as stainless props aparently and you can fiddle with pitch setting for a mere £30 a go by changing the blades.
