I can only tell you that i have spent some weeks looking at differant tests carried out on various rope cutters,the conclusion i came to was that the disc type cutter is better than nothing, but the best type seem to be the "scissor"type cutters.i dont want to mention any trade names for obvious reasons but you could hire one of these for your stag party(hint hint) i just ordered two of them.an outlay that i didnt do lightly,they are quite expensive for something you cant see working!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

There have been no comparative tests to date with the shaver cutters.
The last test was carried out before the shaver was developed. This test compared the various scissor cutters against the disc types.
There are now three distinct types Disc, available in a range of plain or serrated, Scissor as Spurs, Gaitor or Stripper, and shaver quicKutter.
There are pros and cons for each type and make.
I'm off now got to go to weir quay!
