I used a couple of coats of grate blacking this year. Brilliant result!

In the spring this year I saw a reader's letter in Yachting Monthly extolling the virtues of Equimins Udder Ointment for prop antifouling. I decided to give it a try. I ordered a large tub from Amazon and applied it liberally to my shaft and prop prior to launch. I lifted out on Tuesday this week and the prop and shaft had plenty of weed cover and a sprinkling of barnacles. Equimins is no good for 6 months on the East Coast. Thinking about it - I hope it wasn't the April edition of YM!
