When I bought my boat the prop was painted with Boot top anti foul, which for convenience sake I have continued. I don't like it and want to get back to bare metal.

Apart from good old fashioned elbow grease and wet and dry, is there a sensible way of removing it (hot air gun and scrape, paint stripper...) that someone out there has successfully tried?

4 1/2" Angle Grinder with wire brush attachment, whistle it off in 5 mins. Worth trying lanolin based propguard, seems to work here on the East Coast.

Good Luck

Take the prop off, take it to a vice, clamp gentl y, apply scraper, steel & brass wire brushes and wet/dry.
You will have it clean & shiny before you can get answers off here! 1hr max in the shed.

most boats spend mor e time moored than sailing so each time you come in dive down and cover with black bin bag and remove when going out 10 min a time
