Proof of ownership of boat

Hello,
a total novice but have just bought a boat and picking it up tonight, but I have some questions, is there like a log book or v5 for boats that prove ownership on the boat

Oh dear I hope your safe with this one, how much is it? If its quite a bit you should have a paper trail from the day the boat was sold from dealer to first owner , is it stil on finance ask the seller, ask where he bought it and how much . There are others on here far more knowledgeable and I hope they come along soon to advise you.

You really need a bill if sale from the vendor , go on r y a website and download a blank bill if sale as a starter.
