Burgundyben you are a very lucky man. That's really a nice looking boat, she would be THE star on our Geneva Lake! Feel free to post more pics of her! Do you have some info about speed / consumption etc.?

At some point in the past, my boat was Big Ed III, I knew that the then owner was Ed Fattorini (who I think built Beaucette Marina), I did not know that he raced Big Ed I and II. I understand he's still about.

Ray Bulman gave box fulls of photographs to Graham Stevens that runs the online Powerboat Archive. Graham shared the Fairey pics with author and historian Charles Lawrence who knew (obvs) that she is now my boat.

Its not clear that she actually raced, there's no record, but it seems she was prepared to.

When I sold Playtime, with a plan to buy a 31, I knew it was unlikely that I'd be wearing race numbers for a while. Now it seems I legitimately can.

This photo also reveals several details that I can now correct.

B,

what are the two things on the coachroof on the old b/w pic that are missing on yours?
is that light blue the original colour? cannot compare with the b/w pic...
finally, would it be possible to have the canopy in another colour (ie. black) so that you don't have 5 colours on the superstructure? Makes it a bit too busy colourwise...
and looks like you have to change the anchor as well :p

Anything else?

Years ago when I kept Rebels Only (a Fletcher 21) at Hamble Point, Mr Curtis (father of Steve) who owned the marina at that time, bought a cargo load of Fairy boats which had been en route to the Middle East but which had become stuck in the Suez during the problems. They needed much work (the heat had destroyed the rubbers etc) and to this day I tell myself I should have bought one...
