Progress with my new (old) boat.

One or two forumites may know that having children was a difficult journey for us, Felix* arrived 9 weeks early back in November at 3.30 on a Friday morning. So the boat is to be Friday's Child.

Engines went in yesterday, why Fairey built one side of the boat different to the other I don't know, we trial fitted an engine on the stbd side and that went in perfectly, however, port side was miles out!

The hokey cokey with the crane and a grinder sorted it enough to get them in. One mounting bracket will have to come out for a modification.

Pics later.

*He's doing fine thanks.

We talked about Oberon or Titania, but ultimately I'm not sure about Fairey, Huntsman or Bond related names, there's a few too many already.

As Lorna, Felix and I were all born on a Friday we decided on

Incidentally - its sign written by an old friend of mine who apprenticed in sign writing in 1971, done by hand in a traditional way, he can do gold leaf too.

Apologies for freddrift but mention of proper sign writing reminded me how you can get five instances of the word "and" together in a sentence that makes sense...

Well, there were these two signwriters, Fred and Joe, and they were painting a new sign for the "Pig and Whistle".

Fred is up the ladder and asks Joe if the lettering looks ok.

Joe is a bit of a perfectionist and he looks long and hard at the new sign and then says:

"You've got too much space between Pig and and and and and Whistle"
