But then I watched his review of Mavic and the quality still looks amazing. I think Mavic wins it for me, if I can take it hand luggage when I visit family in the Isle of Man a few times a year.

Completely agree, most of us will be using the drone as hobbyists and to be fair, with post production becoming more accessible the Mavic is viable; its a great bit of kit Imho. Haven't flown mine yet but for the average boater it's very portable/stowable and the build quality it a big step up from the P3.

One of the problems with crowd funding is that it there's no way for the developer to keep their powder dry...by the time the product hits the market a firm such as DJI can take a niche from the bleeding edge to something like critical mass and use the likes of lily to do the feasibility study...
I imagine that a bit of IP has changed hands in the back channel....
Shame it looked like fun
