Hey guys ,
I bought this boat maybe 10 years ago for very little money, for trolling on a local lough and it’s served me well.

It’s currently out of the water while the engine gets sorted and I think I might as well polish this turd up.

First off, does anyone know what type of boat this is?

So here’s what needs sorted

1.when you pop the drain plugs, there’s still water in the boat, so the polystyrene within it is waterlogged.....I think this has been the case since I bought it.

Should I drill a hole in the hull and then seal it up?

2. The inside and outside of the boat are flaking paint.

I want to strip the inside and outside of the boat and paint it.

Can anyone recommend what process to use and what materials/paints are required?

Thanks everyone

Re water remaining in polystyrene, no don't drill through the hull to drain it. Far better try to remove the polystyrene or find a way to get a drain tube to the bottom of the cavity. Re paint. It sounds like hull and internal has been painted before. Try paint stripper or caustic soda. Or just sand it down to a decent smooth finish. Then go with one of the paint systems for a glossy finish. That would be a big job probably beyond the value of the boat. In which case you might end up just touching up the paint with an enamel paint. it ios up to you how far you go. ol'will

Thanks fellas.

Can anyone recommend a combination of jotun products to use?

I previously used their epoxy primer to paint the underside of a car.

Can anyone recommend what cheap product to use for painting on top?

Thanks
