Problems with Marina Services

Hi guys, I didn't think it would come to this, but time for a rant:eek:

Cardiff Marina advertise washing facilities, however the washing machine has been tempermental for a while, but has now vanished! The Marina have promised the facilities will be running by Tuesday, however there is still no washing machine!

Also there is a heater in the gents toilets that has not been working since March this year. Again, promises were made to get this replaced - still nothing! It is now quite chilly in the evenings, so the heater will make showering a bit more enjoyable!

I have been keeping this internal (within the marina) for quite a while, but I have now come to the conclusion that the only way to get things done is to moan about it in public.

I am not saying Cardiff Marina is a bad place, I am just making my complaint more 'open' - as internal complaints are not having an effect!

Please use this thread for complaints about Marine Facilities - your voice should be heard a little 'louder'
 
I am sorry these two issues have arisen. I am aware of them and can report back as follows:

1/ The washing machine is new and is being repaired under warranty and should have been returned by now (Tuesday was the date promised by the suppliers). The marina staff are chasing this to rectify asap.

2/ A replacement heater too has been ordered and should be installed shortly.
 
this is the one thing i like about keeping your boat in a marina. as to keeping your boat at a club. you got a problem and you get things done. another satisfied customer. you are a moaner and whinger, and treated with distain. if you got a problem at a club.

Respect to the manager for posting on here and answering the problems immediately and publicly. Everyone expects problems, that's life, it all about the approach of management to sort things out rather than ignore them that sorts the men from the boys.
 
I think the marina have done all they can. Maybe they could have put temporary ones in but the logistics with H&S, PAT testing etc is just not worth it for a few days.

No complaints

I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend the marina to anyone ..They have plenty of space as well. the new bridge has added to the situation also ... brought a few proper old fashioned pubs within a few mins walk we had a good a night in the Cogan ! .. but they ran out of beer at 2 in the morn and as a result gave us free brandy till 3 !

I understand the washing machine was returned and re-installed on Saturday. The heater should arrive early this week. CSail you are correct, PAT and H&S needs must be met.

I have upmost respect for you!

The washing Machine was not your fault, but was down to the company that was servicing the machine!

As for the heater, I am glad to hear that this is being sorted - especially since the weather has taken a turn!

It is very good to hear that our efforts to rectify issues are appreciated...and yes please do keep the feedback coming. Without being too arogant about it and with the investment planned we are aiming to ensure Cardiff Marina is very much the best in Wales if not beyond. Your feedback in this regard is welcomed. You after all will be the judges of whether or not our ambitions are achieved.

Congratulations!

Well earnt - especially with the works of the new footbridge going over the marina.
