At the beginning of last year 2016 I fitted 5 Vetus PZ77 portlights. By April this year one had started leaking from the rubber seal, today another has started leaking in a similar place.
Has anyone else had similar problems or am I just unlucky.
It is obvious the seal isn't up to the job as the boat is UK based.
I've just bought some new rubber seal to fit, but if I hadn't cut the apertures bigger to fit these portlights I'd be putting back the Lewmar ones I took out where the seals were still good after 25 years only the perspex had crazed

Sorry to hear this has happened. Non setting sealant like arbormast or butyl tape that double glazers use is often recommended for bedding windows

yes I had that problem solution not so easy though. They supply a replacement seal and a very strong RUNNY superglue adhesive .

first problem getting original seal off . very difficult
Second problem is the runny super glue difficult to install with window in vertical position . After terrible time with sticky glue on everywhere and everything except where its needed plus difficulty of doing work from inside with glare fromm outside affecting vision Iconcluded that the best way to do the job is to take whole window out and do the gluing with the window frame flat and horizontal and in good clear light . Not a job for the faint hearted

I would ADD that the seals in my case are on the opening part of a Vetus port light o ie window to frame and not frame to window

No problem with my part, frame to boat, problem is with Vetus's part, opening part to frame.:disgust:

Have you spoken to Vetus?

Now here lies the rub! I purchased portlights on line and can't remember which company I purchased them from. In order to lead a peaceful life, with no agro about scale of money spent on floaty thing, receipt has long since gone

Wouldn't you have had an email confirming the purchase?

Had a problem with leaking portlights a couple of years ago. Boat, a Swan, from 80's vintage. Bought from Seals On Line a nice round section. Since it was a bit thin for the job ( had to guess a bit), I set it in a PU mastic to bring it up to the required level. Worked a treat.
