Has anyone any experiences, Good or Bad with yacht brokerages/dealers in Croatia? for instance, Seymar Yachts? or MUNITOR Yacht brokerage, others?

We are looking to buy a yacht from a yacht brokerage in Croatia and want to be VERY well prepared as we have read in the forums of a few bad experiences when dealing with these companies

(1) Does any have any experiences of scams/problems when buying yachts in general or especially from brokerages in Croatia? - For instance failing to return deposit when serious problems are found in survey?

(2) Has anyone used a Lawyer/escrow/Trust/ Brrokerage trust account for purchases in Croatia? OR just handed the money over to the owner? to the dealer?

Thanks for any information

hi there,
I am trying to locate a boat through Selymar, but they simply do not answer......
Past experiences: a few yrs ago I purchased a sailing boat through the broker "Plavetnilo". Nice people, nice seller. But I wasn't able to register the boat on my name for more then a year, because there was a problem with leasing company and taxes...
So take somebody who will be responsable for the whole process if you're buying.
kind rgds

Earlier this year I bought a boat brokered by Selymar. They were superb: extremely professional, courteous and helpful. The person i dealt with was Mark Zamanis, based out of Split.
