Problems installing marine speakers

I bought a pair of speakers. Unfortunately, no installation description was included.

Each speaker consists of two parts. An outer grille cover and the speaker itself see picture.

My questions.

Should the cable, in the outer grille cover, be connected to the speaker part?

if the answer is yes, how should I do that ? There does not appear to be a hole or space for the cable once the speaker part is mounted.?

Immediate very unhelpful thread drift offered: instead use a small bluetooth rechargable speaker & keep all your music on your phone/ tablet.
NO wiring required.
In the average sized boat cabin the sound quality and volume is stunning.
Sorry!

These are a pair of non-magnetic speakers. Very limited range -:)

It looks as if the grill speaker may be the tweeter, but how the crossover is arranged I’ve no idea. You could try connecting them in parallel and trying it at low volume but it might well be better to find some information, or, better still, someone who knows what they are talking about.

That's my guess, too. They are imported from Italy. I have contacted Osculati. Hope they respond. Can not understand how it is intended. It should not be so difficult ..

Just looking at the picture provided it looks like there are two sets of spade connections on the speaker unit, one of which is the right size for the tweeter cables from the cover. I'm guessing that the cover clips over the speaker with the extra diameter being that of the tweeter wire conduit around the perimeter. So you will need to drill for the speaker and a separate hole (rectangle) to put the tweeter wires through then connect to the speaker spades.

This is why I also went for the bluetooth speaker option :-)

Love the Misil2 though. The Rassey that no one knows about except those who know! I came close to buying one a few years ago when I was thinking of doing the Jester.

That was my thought too. But I can not understand that they can make such a bad construction.

There are smaller holes so it might be better for me to cut the cable and connect them after installation

as there is no visible cross over, i think it will be just a capacitor in series with the tweeter under the opaque cover to filter out any bass. These are usually then just paralleled up with the large speaker ( i wouldn't call it a woofer, as it is running full range ).
i can't see from your photo if there are 2 spade tags for each polarity which would indicate a simple parallel connection of input and tweeter at the rear of the main driver.

Big spades one either side of the Philips head screw.
Small spades(input) to the left.

if each large spade tag has a small spade tag linked to it, then it is a simple in and out as i thought, with a cheap as chips filter cap under the cover, or god forbid a piezo tweeter, which self filter but screech like finger nails down a blackboard

there are two spade tags for each polarity. I'm not that technically . Can you explain a little more clearly. Should I drop the cable?

the cables from the front grille should exit the plastic through a small gate in the housing and connect to the tags, red to +. They should not be visible from the front when the grille is fitted to the front of the large speaker, so look for a small notch on the large speaker to align with the cables.
The other tags go back to the amplifier.

that's how i see it too, maybe cut a tiny notch in the round speaker hole to get the cables from the grille round the back

This will be correct. I would guess that the small notch is not actually in the main speaker itself to allow it to be fitted at any angle. It only needs to be a tiny gap in the hole in the fibreglass for the thin wires to pass through to the back of the speaker so it might be that there will be enough space to allow the wires to squeeze past the main speaker anyway unless the hole is cut extremely precisely.
