Hi all can you help.
We have a simpson lawrance loo fitted in our boat and have never been able to get it working properly. It empties fine most of the time but will not draw water in to flush. We have not used it much till this season as last year we were in a marina on a pontoon berth but now we are on a swinging mooring and need it more often. We have been reduced to filling a bucket and flushing that way but would like to get it working properly. Any suggestions please.

Thanks

As Charles says, it's a problem with the valves on the suction side. They are very cheap and cheerful, stamped out of rubber sheet. They could be fitted badly, have some sort of foreign object stuck in one of them, or so elderly that they have curled and no longer seal. Buy a service kit and replace them.

You dont say exactly which model SL toilet you have

As you probably know Simpson Lawrence no longer exit but a good range of spares are available for 400/401 from http://www.slspares.co.uk/ Instruction manuals on line too if you need one.

Thanks for the advice I will take it apart next time I'm at the boat and try to fix it. Probably going to put the boat on the market at the end of the season so I would like to make sure everything works. Not giving up by the way but looking for something a little larger. Thanks again.
