I own a 1980 Gaff rigged Privateer. On the underside of the hull at the front of the centre plate box is a metal strip. I would guess that once upon a time it was galvanised steel, but is now rusty steel. I would like to replace it. On the outside of the hull it is attached by a rusty screw, but how is it attached inside the box, and how do I access it?
