I have a lifetimes experience in the Marine industry at a senior management level in new and brokerage boat sales, customer service, engineering and consultancy. My experience to date has seen me working with major brands across the UK, Europe and the US. My trade and press contacts are exceptional.

I now have an opportunity to establish an operation in Barcelona and am looking for an incoming investor (at a low level of investment) for a 50% stake in the business. The investor could remain silent, play an immediate and active role in the organisation or perhaps plan on relocating at some point in the future to fit in with their own requirements.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to become involved in this industry who understands the value of experience, contacts and the ability to "hit the ground running"

Please PM your email address for a detailed overview of the opportunity

Oi Yachteam, very non PC to get your original post deleted when so many people posted such useful advice and questions.

Now, my question again is, why if you have so much experience at a senior level in the marine industry do you need to skulk around here for investment. Don't you know anyone in the industry that is prepared to invest in you and your idea.

Second question is why you would only need £18k for 50% sounds to me like your investor would be funding your boating lifestyle in Spain and that there would be no real investment return.

Again for those reasons 'I'm ooot'

Wakeup

I agree its not fair that I got deleted so soon especially when I have had so many seriously interested people asking for further information

The reason Im only looking for £18k is that the business is already in revenue to a certain level and does not need major investment. In these difficult times I felt it best to keep the requirement as low as I could get away with to appeal to the widest audience.

Send me your email for full details - you might be surprised!!

What's going on with the deletion and stuff?

There have been businesses helped (including by the provision of finance in some cases) thru this forum - Lumishore as mentioned by Wakeup on the now-removed thread, and a marina acquisition.

I share the scepticism - £18k is a small amount of money not to have already and the size of the transaction might mean it isn't worth the effort of doing the legal legwork

I'm interested in general in these opportunities, and have backed plenty of businesses financially, but only as an investor not someone who would work inside the business. I'll PM an email address and have a look if you don't mind. Happy to sign an NDA

You mean you got deleted by the mods, as opposed to you asking to be deleted? I don't understnad. I didn't see anything rule-breaking in your original post /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Perhaps the mods could explain what's wrong if theis is delted by them? I'm (very) familiar with the laws on public securities offerings but I dont think this contravened any, and anyway I am sure the FSA and the SEC and have more pressing matters than policing posts like this on a boaters forum /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes deleted by the Mods after about 4 hours!

I wouldn't mind but Ive spent tens of thousands of corporate advertising with IPC over the years!

If advertising for venture capitol was allowed then every TDH would be on here with get rich quick schemes......

Just because yours is marine oriented I see no reason that you should be encouraged to do so... I think if you were a regular contributor then you may have had a different reaction, but it is considered bad form to just take instead of give.

And I dont want to come on here and see every second post an advert thanks.

No personal insult intended.. more just a straightforward explanation.

I would imagine the reason the thread got deleted, is that advertising isn't allowed on this forum. All you need to do to get round this, is simply post your "advert" and say you are looking for advice on the wording, or suchlike.

Well at least that is what everyone else on here does when they are selling their boats, so it should work for your proposal /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The problem here is that it sounds like the 18K would be for salary. Investors don't really like to invest in something 1) just to keep it in cash flow and 2) when it's for salary for founding members of a business.

On that basis I think, although we will all have a view, that there is much point in posting here. I wish you luck though.

Regards,
Tony

Your posts were deleted because apart from being of dubious relevance, and unwelcome advertising, they contravened the simple rule of multiple posting across forums.

I was inundated with complaints about your postings and was sick of seeing it everywhere I looked.

Perhaps you would be good enough to familiarise yourself with the forum rules before posting again.

Louise

I do take your point regarding multiple listings and apologise for this. No excuse of course, but I hadn't read the rules in any detail - it won't happen again.

I am not so sure about the reference to "dubious relevance and unwelcome advertising", actually my posting has been welcomed by many forum members as can be read across the threads of yesterday and today. Of course not welcomed by all but that is I thought the point of a forum - to promotes discussion.

From the comments of members it seems that others have raised funding here in the past and in fact some of the current members have invested - a precedent has been set, I was aware of this and did not therefore think I was doing anything wrong. However if I have upset anyone including yourself I once again apologise
