I am trying to sell my sailboat on the internet - But can you believe what I was told by Scanboat...
As a private seller if I don't put my home address on the advert for all to see then they will (and did) remove my advert!
Their privacy statement says 'that all personal data will be kept confidential and not disclosed to any third party without my permission'. That sounded quite clear to me hence I was suprised to see my address shown on the advert.
I contacted them and their exact response was "As we have way to much scam from UK – we only accept adverts with full adress and where we can trace the person". This means that they want your private address and contact details displayed on the web. Maybe I should add my credit card details to the advert too for good measure.
It seems the UK has decended to the depths of the Nigerians in the views of the rest of Europe.
