Since the change in format I have not been able to print a thread properly.

An inch or so is missing on the right. No problem previously.

Can anyone please help. I am not very computer literate.

Many thanks

Go to your printer setup and reduce the left and right margins to, say, 2mm. This may well solve the problem

Thanks for your replies.

Col.

I click PRINT TOPIC at the bottom of the page, click print under 'file'.
It has always worked with the old system.

Can't see how to do this. But have just printed in landscape and it comes out OK but with lots of waste space either side.

Many Thanks

I presume that you are in IE. Go to File then Page Setup at the top. In Page setup you will find the margins. Cut them right down. Also ensure that the paper type is A4 and that the orientation is Portrait..

Printing landscape is very wasteful and should not be necessary.

Good luck,

Bob

Hi Bob

Thanks for info. However file only shows PRINT SETUP which gives me the option of landscape/portrait and paper size. No item PAGE SETUP.

It's probably me being thick

Presuming that you are in IE6, clicking File at the top left should show Page Setup as the 6th item on the menu.

If this doesn't work try re-posting your query on the "Websirte News and Feedback Site" which would perhaps have been better in the first place. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Useful alternative method...

If you want to save a thread for reference, you don't have to print it all out. Instead, you can save it to your hard disk. In the Internet Explorer browser, when viewing the thread, click on "File", then "Save As...", and you should get a pop-up box titled "Save Web Page". The title of the thread will already be in the "File name" box (eg, for this one, you'll see "Yachting and Boating World Printing threads"). You can choose which folder to save it to. Click "Save" and it copies the thread to your chosen folder.

An advantage of doing it this way is that, if there are later posts in the thread, you can simply save it again (using the same process) and it will overwrite the previous file.
