Princess V52

Benjenbav I really cant make it out, but possibly a Baia Azzurra/ B50 as well and a few others ... difficult to tell as I cant see anything above the GRP.

I'm sure JFM and the Italian Boat specialists will be along soon to put us out of our misery. ;)

I'd rather say a 63', but definitely a Baia, anyhow.

PS: on second thought, I wouldn't rule out the Itama 75, either... Mmm...

Wow, that must be the nicest tender name I've ever seen.
Do tell, does it look as I'm guessing, at night...?

Actually she's a 67
We "checked out" the 64 at the last Southampton Boat Show and agreed that if we were buying again, the 64 would probably have been the one but.....
No internal stairs - a big thing for us.
So the 67 still beats others in that class.
The foredeck on the 67 is also more like a bigger boat as well the gunwhales (if thats what you call them) form a more "grown up" look about them.
These and other things still make the 67 a better boat - IMO

On our recent travels, I came across a guy who looked at our boat and said that he was once thinking of buying a P67 but eventually settled on a Manhattan because of the size and access of the crews quarters - Crew!! "I said" - he looked a little confused "who sails the boat then?" he said!!!
He was completely gobsmacked when I replied that mostly it was just "the wife and I"

Wow - that's amazing ! I know of a princess 67 here that has 2 full time crew !

That's a fairly mean machine in back of the shot of the 3 tenders. Is it an Itama 50/55?

Itama Seventy Five. The big flagship of the brand
The big hull window and carbon hard top sells it off. This is the third different color set up I see on the Seventy Five; blue and white, brown, and this Silver.
Love it!
I made like ten minutes admiring the photo. But I am big Itama fan since the nineties when it was owned by Mario Amati and before it became more commercial/ known because Ferretti Group took over.

Yep, the hull window was also the reason for my second thought above.
The HT instead, it's rather similar to the ones used in most Baias, innit?
As an aside, I also like some of the stuff Amati used to build. He had some clever ideas, too - as with the propulsions.
Not sure about what Ferretti Group did to improve what Amati started, though. Aside from increasing prices, that is...

Hello Mapis
yes Amati had some clever ideas one of them being propulsion (minium angle) and the second (IMO more important) being the under water exhaust which few know he pioneered in 1981 with the advent of the Itama 38. The first of the open series. Mario Amati said he was at the time young and inmature not to patent the technology which he presented in that years Genoa boat show. The technology as history says was already copied during the show with one builder presenting the underwater exhaust on its boats during the course of the show.

Ferretti Group improved the accommodation layout of the models, and some functional items. I think the modern Forty is a fabolous boat. But are not they all nice the new Itama's deisgned by Mario Casali from Rome.
Worth to look if you likes Itama are the new XL Marine which are a company formed by x-Itama empolyess managers and located in Rome. They have the same functional items of the new Ferretti models but are more custom and have what looks like better hardware.
Actually a Baia hard has no T-Top form as the Seventy which the distance, and because in that photo it is slided in front gives it a bit away.
The shearline which is curved also gives a Baia a distinctive look versus the Itama which has a straighter line.

PYB/MapisM - Thanks. I thought the big hull windows weren't there on the smaller Itamas but I couldn't persuade myself it was that big. Mind you I passed a Princess 95 in the Solent the other day and I would have sworn it was not much more than 20m loa. :D

Hi All,

Would like to seek your advice on the lumishore lights as Princess came back and said that they are unable to fit the through hull lights as the boat would not accomodate the depth? Will the xc90 colour change plus work as well the through hull lights?

Many thanks !

They are just not being clever enough. Of course the depth (of the "stalks" of the Lumishore lights) can be fitted, if they just use some engineering nous.

The x90 (not xc90 - that's a volvo!) will work well lightwise but are not at all a neat fit on a v52. The thru hulls would be much better

I just wouldn't accept their answer on this.
