Princess V48 / Targa 48 vs 52

A friend is looking at these boats - any owners opinions on them? Main difference is Volvo D9s vs D12s and obvious cabin space / layout etc. Personally I prefer the styling of the Princess but running costs / berthing / practicality of getting into marinas etc is more of a concern looking at the two sizes.

Is the V48 & T48 the newer versions or the older ones on shafts?

It's a T47 actually (Gran Turismo) - both boats around 2008 and on shafts.

Ive thought about upgrading from a T40 myself to one of these.

The V48 is fabric opening rather than GRP on targa's, however the targa's have side windows unlike the V48.
I like the fact the T47 has the opening hatch at the stern for access down below, however its more of a jump down if walking along that side deck.

Obvs the T52 is a 3 cabin boat but im not overly keen on the fact the second heads is up forward rather than en-suite to one of the aft cabins, but at the same time if you've got guests onboard its better than walking into one of the cabins for day use.

I believe the T52 & V48 are quicker boats than T47.

Have you considered servicing and running costs? I presume your 40 has KAD44s or similar on outdrives?
