Princess or Ferretti , what boat would you choose?

Captain Alf seems a bit of a find, he looks to be able to prepare quite an impressive food arrangement (as I sit here eating a sandwich for lunch :(), iirc most of your posts include elaborate seafood displays, and yes I am jealous :D

So where are you currently, diving Maldives or boating Italy

prepared my previous post in Dubay, and uploaded in Maldives.
I prepared a "maldives diving" post but need to upload all the pictures
internet speed is eyewatering here,
I'am afraid my telephone bill also :o
will post more when I'm back, beginning next week

Boat is ready for a epic journey, Worldmap and courtesy flags are in place 

Bart, certainly looks like you have found a very good condition 70, it seems the previous owner looked after her well, I am sure you will have amazing times on her. I particularly like the courtesy flag rack, I have been looking for something like this to keep all my courtesy flags tidy in one place. Thanks for the idea!

BTW, are you thinking of keeping Capt Alf on, if his cooking is anything to go by it might be a good move! Let me know if you do and I will divert my route to join you for lunch!

Happy boating. :)

Many many congratulations bart and here's to fantastic times aboard your beautiful ship. Now you're in the Maldives getting over the buying process while most of us are looking out at grey skies :( You can go off people you know ;)

Look forward to you sharing your adventures and the very best wishes to you and yours:)

Haha, obviously not a lot has changed since the last time I've been there...! :D
I hope you don't mind if I throw in a small O/T appetizer, while we wait for your report. Surely you'll recognise the environment, if not the specific places...

A few obligatory u/w shots...

Bart, what software did you use to put together your video? A friends daughter likes the idea, and wants to do similar with some pics of her travels in South America.

It's been a while actually - 2005.
If I hadn't just looked at those pics, I wouldn't have realised how time flies.

Windows Movie Maker? Has been embedded in Windows since XP I think. Dead easy. (Mac users will now flame me!)

Hey Bart, that Cap'n Alf is fantastic. Not only does he drive and mend the boat but he cooks as well. Can I marry him after you've finished with him?

Lovely to find the craftsman who worked on your boat originally. Please let us know how the repairs go. I have a couple of cherrywood panels which have faded a little in the sun and some scratches in a few areas in my boat which I may want to repair and I've always been told that repairs will be very expensive. So, it would be interesting to know if there are companies around that can do these repairs for a reasonable cost.

Blue Angel looks fab. Happy cruising

sorry J,
I'm sure it was made on mac,
I did it myself; asc somebody to make this film :)

but as you say, movie maker comes with Windows, (not the DVD encoder at that time, some years back, don't know now)
have used pinacle studio myself, similar to movie maker,
all very easy to learn

It all seems to have gone faster than we all first thought.

I hope to meet up somewhere this summer. If we do, I'd like to lend you my 4.1m/50hp tender for a test drive becuase I'm really pleased with it and it feels like a much better machine than a 3.2m. You'd like it i think.

I knew chances were high that this was going to happen when I started this thread :) but we are really pleased with this decision.

Do you think your new tender is big enough, and not too heavy ? I had a close look at a few options posted here before in this thread, will take my time to investigate…(much longer then choosing the main boat :))
Looking forward to this summer, could think about a few more topics I would like to have a chat..….

Hi Bart, very familiar with movie maker and the like, but was interested in how you did the zooms to map, the 'embedded' pics etc. Can just get a vid camera and zoom in on map etc and record it, but it looked a bit more professional than that?

not at all,
do you remember the name of that boat ?
its not that big I think
Nope, not by heart.
Maybe it's visible in some other pics, I should go through them if you're interested.
Not one of the biggest, but still 30m or so, as I recall.
Anyway, a diving cruise is the only good reason to visit Maldives imho.
How was yours?

Hi Brendan,
I really don't know,
the guy who made it did it in mac for sure,
its his job, to make things like that
so I rather not asc him how he did it ;)

by the way, I've alway's liked your avatar !
