Anyone notice the disparity in the prices quoted in this month's MBY for the new Princess 62 @ £1.87m + VAT and the new Fairline Targa 63 @ £1.38m + VAT? OK flybridge boats cost a bit more to build than sportscruisers but how can Princess justify charging half a million quid more for their 62 footer than Fairline charge for their 63 footer which, according to the dimensions, is actually a larger boat?

Other people's £1m new boat keep people in jobs and might be our £100,000k boats in 20 years time so I never knock them.

Agree 100%. Hooray for new boat buyers and hooray for massive depreciation because those two factors provide the affordable used boats for we bottom fishers in a few years time. Mind you new boat buyers should feel similarly warm towards us because if we weren't buying their cast offs there wouldn't be a new boat market
