Anyone know the name of the Princess font used on the side of their boats? I can't seem to find anyone at Princess who knows what it's called, or where to get it from.
You're right, we are (buying from Poole). I asked the marketing manager in Plymouth on Tuesday, but she doesn't know what it's called.
The boat is being moved to Swanwick next week and once it's there we'll be along to have another look and that'll give me an excuse to drop in to the Swanwick office.
Jimmy
Both you and Adrian are referring to Princess Motor Yacht Sales. Perhaps it would be better to talk to someone at the factory where the main font is used - worldwide - We met Clive - he seems to know quite a lot there.
You're definitely right that the Poole office is a satellite to Swanwick.
I'm still in dialogue with the marketing manager at Poole - so let me pursue that to the bitter end, and if I get stuck then I'll ask for your help to try this other route to get the answer. Cheers for the offer.
Planned delivery date (according to the contract at least) is 30 April; no berth yet (we're on the waiting list for Gosport; I think we're the only 14m on the list) - they offered us something on the western side of M but I wasn't keen. Tim suggested that I might be wrong not to be keen!
Naming party details tba - don't worry - you're on the list!
On further digging around, Kimberley is produced by Larabie fonts; they also produce Zero Twos and Pirulen - and the Princess font looks like a combination of the two.
I've sent you the Kimberley, Pirulen and Zeroes fonts that all seem to be pretty close in one way or another; one slight wiggle with all this is that the font Princess use in their printed materials is very slightly different to the font they use for the model names in stainless on the sides of the boats.
C'mon Jimmy, You've had long enough. When are we going to get this report and pics of your trip to Princess last week??!!?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
