Princess C class

I thought one of the stars of this years Cannes show (based on video reviews!) was actually the new Beneteau Swift Trawler 37 Fly. Base price at EUR 315k (ex. VAT) and it seems to me that there's a significant step up in interior quality with this model. I really look forward to seeing one in person once they make their way here.
I’ll be honest, I’ve gone off Beneteau as a company......lovely people when they are taking your money....

Aquaholic just posted a video review:

Is that because of the quality of the boat or the service of the company/dealer?
From the videos the ST37 looks a very strong offering. The cost cutting is everywhere nowadays, also with the “premium” builders like Princess.

From the videos, every boat is great.
And while I agree that the corner cutting attitude is everywhere (well, almost), imho madame Roux and her boys would easily win the Nobel prize, if there were one for such category.
Aside from what I heard from several owners of both their sail and motor boats, a dozen of years ago if not more, I carefully inspected what back then was their ST flagship, the 52.
And if I should summarize my impression, she's among the boats whose construction deserves, more than most, to be called yogurt pot-alike.
So, if practice makes perfect, I can only imagine that they stretched that attitude even further, with their current offering... :p
Though I must say that I completely lost interest on the brand since then, and I have no "fresh" experience.

I just watched the video on the ST37 that Sticky Fingers posted....and...to be truthful I was gobsmacked ......first a little background, I have an original ST34....and it has several design problems that I have been trying to rectify ever since...the ST35 partially fixed some of these...but the ST37 has gone a generation further....solved almost everything AND it’s cheaper!
There is one point....the reason I originally chose the ST34 was that it was the smallest boat that you could store and launch a full sized tender (up on the boat deck which has a derrick)....this was our top priority at the time (we all start with a wish list that ends up compromised in some way). The ST35 made a hash of the tender storage...slung on the back with some odd winch to drag it on....which meant when you come into port Med style the tender completely blocks you getting on and off the boat...a complete mishmash. The video of the ST37 says it has davits on the stern for the tender...but without seeing them I won’t judge it. And I would especially like to see it with the tender and a hydraulic passerelle at the same time
Anyhow....all in all I was mighty impressed...even though I have gone off them as a company

Both....the dealers forget you after delivery and the company does not stand behind their product. Don’t get me wrong, there might be someone here who has a big Monté Carlo and gets treated like royalty...I can’t say. But as one out of their million customers....I’m left wanting more...and wanting it sooner

When I was at Cannes , one Beneteau dealer said in the group board meeting, they wanted to buy back an original boat from some bloke with a white seated white Tesla who thinks a Swift is for using at sea and not in a bath for what it was designed for.

If you can pass on his contact details....and tell him I accept his offer !

I agree that it looks like a solid offering in the video, especially in light of the base price - I say that without having studied the cost of optional extras in detail. And as @MapisM pointed out, the quality and feel on the surface are only the first filters anyway.
I had the same thought as you regarding the tender space. The holes for the davits appear to be offset to the port side of the platform, so perhaps that will work with the door on the starboard side, but I don't see room for a hydraulic passerelle. Nick points to a hole for the passerelle in the platform at 1:53 in the video so I guess thats for a non-hydraulic type. It remains to be seen how well this setup works in practice. I imagine this is a challenge faced by several boats of this size in the Med.

It’s interesting to hear about your experience with after-sales support and service - clearly also a major factor when buying new.

I don’t know if it’s changed but when I bought mine....the options were all in packages...and no one package had everything you want and all packages had things you don’t want....and every package cost more than you think it should. In fact it’s exactly like buying a car.....and one of the reasons why I love Teslas...there is almost no options or packages

PS...the tender doesn’t just need to leave clearance for the rear gate...but also not hamper the passing and throwing of lines by the cleats....and I can’t see how a four meter wide boat can accommodate a tender without it getting in someone’s way.....unless the davits are really high and the tender is winched up high. But all in all it looks a very impressive boat...the boat that I would have wanted in the first place

Did you consider also other brands, like Nimbus or Marex? I am looking at that size boat now and the Nimbus 305 is definitely on my list. Apologies for the tread drift..
