Princess are on a marketing roll

A magazine that probably cost nothing to produce sparks a thread on a boaty forum with 100+ posts and thousands of views .
I'd say their marketing bods did okay....:D

Possibly but depends on the print run and distribution. This will not have been done exclusively for MBY. It looks like subs copies of MBY only. I doubt very much ad revenue would cover editorial, print and distribution.

Hmm, you give their marketing team more credit than perhaps deserved. I think Henry Ford once said half of every dollar he spent on marketing was a waste, he just didn't know which half.

This is the kind of brand building "investment" that accountants hate and marketing men love. I wouldn't capitalise it though but many would. I guess it is a marketing war of attrition in many ways and Princess obviously feel that they have to out brandish Sunseeker. To do that will take a relentless marketing spend as well as a plethora of new products. The first without the other will fail, but not necessarily the other way around.

Still we should all be pleased that a British company is "investing" in its brand and we should support it, especially in these strange times.

I look forward to seeing Fairline getting this much attention for their new boats. JFM is righ to highlight the fact that all of the UK boat companies do not have investment grade financial structures.

I didn't vote for Brexit but now that that button has been pushed I will always try to buy something Brtiish or built in Britain.

Forget UK boatbuilders.
Putting "investment grade" and "boat companies" together in the same sentence is an oxymoron no matter what. :D

As an aside, I completely miss the rationale of trying to buy Brit after Brexit and not (as you seem to imply) before...

Err I said it British built. JLR is owned by Indians but so long as they build in Britain buying one helps UK economy, same for a Honda from Swindon or a Nissan from Newcastle.

Update: when this thread started and, indeed, when MBY and Watermark arrived chez bjb I was away. I've only just actually gotten home and seen it.

Tbh, my instant reaction was that the cover of Watermark had a nasty feel to it so it went straight into the recycling bin.
